Why Make Your Move

Make Your Move is the new GippSport initiative dedicated to providing physical activity opportunities to the Latrobe Valley workforce, community groups and through community events running in the Valley. Our Make Your Move team knows that finding the time to be active and reduce time spent sitting during the week, especially your time at work, can be difficult. We work with workplaces and community to develop programs and activities tailored to your workplace and group to promote and encourage physical activity at times where it is sometimes considered too hard.

Make Your Move believes any activity is good activity as long as you’re moving! We want you to have fun while providing extra opportunity to be social within your workplace and community, and have timeout from those daily stresses. Increased activity to break up the day reduces time spent sedentary and is proven to have exponential health and wellbeing benefits as well as increasing productivity.

Make Your Move has a number of physical activity based games, social sport and active recreation options available for workplaces and community groups to participate in. Our team are ready to deliver activities at your workplace, group and community event. Sometimes it’s nice to have a change of scenery and move away from the ‘office environment’, to help this we can assist in organising offsite programs. The Make Your Move team knows it is important to ensure that activities and programs keep participants safe so in instances where it will be best to have a qualified instructor lead a program this will be arranged by the Make Your Move team.

Get in touch with our Make Your Move team to learn more on what activities can be provided, and start discussing your ideas to get your workplace and community making their move.

Dan is the GippSport version of the energizer bunny, as well as the Executive Officer. Dan has years of experience and a wealth of knowledge in the sports and rec industry, and works tirelessly to ensure GippSport is at the forefront of social sport and active recreation opportunities for Gippsland communities. You can catch Dan riding around the world on his virtual bike, pushing his young daughter while he runs an easy 10km, or out on the golf course chasing that elusive hole in  one.

Danielle has a degree in Health Promotion and works closely with workplaces and community groups to design and organise activities, programs and events which support physical activity opportunities in the Latrobe Valley. Danielle makes her move on the netball court, at the gym and Pilates, and is fond of a walk with friends, especially when it’s to grab a coffee and smashed avo on the weekend.

Nicole is GippSport’s Communications guru. She’s pretty handy behind the camera and on social media. She whips up some great photos and videos of the Gippsland community getting active. When Nicole isn’t busy studying to complete her Sports Management Degree and running all aspects of GippSport communications, you can catch her getting around on her skateboard, at the gym bulking or up the mountain snowboarding.

Lunchtime games were fantastic! The Make Your Move team made the process super easy. The games were fun, engaging, and suitable for our staff of all fitness levels.

They are a great addition to our existing health and wellbeing program at Latrobe Community Health Service.  Strongly recommended.

Laura – Latrobe Community Health Service

What a fantastic program! We had such a great time playing Dodgeball that staff are still talking about it weeks later, and asking when MYM can come out and do it again. The facilitators were professional, rallied our “troops” with enthusiasm and ran the games well, and partnered with our organisation perfectly.

Thanks guys!

Kirralee – Aussie Broadband

What a wonderful program! My work outputs improved so much just from 30 mins of activity during my lunch break.
